Background
I started working at Syke as a Senior Research Scientist in the beginning of 2011. My main task at that time was to develop satellite monitoring methods for the water quality of lakes and to act as the project manager of the Syke’s part in the FP7 FreshMon project. In the years 2014-2022, in addition to project work, I was a group manager in the Geoinformatics research unit of Syke’s Data and Information Centre (previous organization). The unit’s goal was to develop satellite based methods for monitoring of land cover, cryosphere and water environment. Since the beginning of 2023, I have worked as a development manager in the Quality of information unit.
In addition, I am one of Finland's delegates in the European Space Agency's (ESA) Data, Operations, Scientific and Technical Advisory Group (DOSTAG) since 2017, and a member of the Remote Sensing group of the Finnish Space Advisory Board.
